Wilson has become a cautious eater all of a sudden. Previously he would eat anything you put on his tray of any color or texture. He would work and struggle to get it to his mouth just to get a taste of the new thing. Now. Pffft- nothing! He will eat his old standby Mum-Mums no matter the day or time and a few other things but, other than that, his lips are sealed. We gave him a pizza crust to chomp on the other night and he just batted it around his tray for awhile. He didn't even put it up to his mouth! I was shocked, to say the least. Since then he has poo-poo'ed several delicious things that I know he would love if he would just put it in his mouth. Only two weeks ago you could not have convinced me that I would be trying to trick him into putting more stuff into his mouth.
My current tactics for tricking him include
-forming food into shapes similar to a Mum-mum or baby puff
-hiding one food inside of another "approved" food (ex. stuffing the inside of a cheerio with banana nut muffin)
I've read enough to know that freaking out, forcing the issue or getting frustrated is not the route back to my try-anything baby. My plan is to keep offering new things, both alone and mixed with familiar things.

Baby's First Fits
Wilson has begun, in earnest, to pitch fits when he doesn't get what he wants. Ay yay yay! He's truly 21 lbs of fury!
His fit "moves" include:
- Screeching and Screaming (a special noise and volume that is reserved only for fits)
- Flailing of the arms, legs, and head
- Dropping down from whatever position he was in to try to rub his face into the floor. (Or when he's at Grandma and Grandpa's the gravel area in the backyard)
This development is both frustrating and hilarious. I need to enforce rules and boundaries and it can be exhausting by the end of the day, but I have to admit that it can be a teeny bit funny in the moment.

Boo Boo Bear Really Gets Around
Since Wilson is now creeping, crawling, cruising and doing everything except for walking unaided he's bumping, bruising, falling and pulling everything down on himself. It seems like our refrigerated boo-boo bear hardly has time to get cold again between jobs these days.
Everyone tells us it's just a phase and I'm sure it will pass, but my poor little guy is really taking it on the chin, here!
Ironically, the picture on said boo boo bear is of Odie from the Garfield comic strips. Odie, if you recall, was the other pet of their owner, Jon. Odie was sentenced to a lifetime of bumps and bruises as he was frequently kicked off the table by Garfield.

Baby's First Blog
Well, that's not exactly true... We decided to try this free blog instead of the website we were using earlier so this is just the beginning of this blog. With that business out of the way I can get to the topic of this post.
"Why I Always Mean to Blog, but Never do; The True Story"
I prepared an infographic to help get to the bottom of the cobwebs that gathered on my last blog.
You can't see it since this is not a skype-blog, but I am turning over a new leaf. A leaf where I blog about all of the hilarious, stressful, and exciting things that happen to me as a Mommy with great regularity and a cunning wit.
So, look out, interwebs, I'm comin' for ya!
